About Crew Pilot Training

Crew Pilot Training (CPT) has a long History training B-737 pilots for all major airlines, especially Southwest. All our instructors and TCE's are retired or close to retiring from Major Airlines.


Which 737s can I fly with a type rating from CPT?

The Boeing 737 type rating is a common rating which is good for all 737's. CPT offers a differences course for the pilots that require training on a specific series aircraft for insurance purposes.


I am a commercial pilot, but I meet the requirements for an ATP. Can I get an ATP with my rating?

Yes. For the Commercial rated pilots wanting to add the ATP license, bring a copy of your ATP written examination and we will add the ATP at No extra charge.


What are the minimum requirements to attend the type rating course?

The minimum requirements to attend the 737 type rating course is: US FAA Commercial Pilot license, Multi-Engine with an Instrument Rating. You must have a valid civilian 1st class medical only if applying for Veterans benefits. For the student attending without Veterans Benefits, no medical is required.

Read the following regulations FAR 61.63 or 61.64 for more information on how to qualify for entry into the B-737 simulator only program. You must meet at least one of the different rules to qualify for entry or a limitation of 25 hours will be added to your license.

Where does CPT conduct training?

The full course is in Sunny Miami, Florida. We are currently utilizing (3) B-737- Classic EFIS and (5) NG series FFS Simulators.


How are classes scheduled?

Classes normally start on Mondays. However if you have a special day you or would rather start bring a friend or two and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
